Realms updates
October 23, 2013
New for the season, is my latest scent, aBandon, a sweetened cranberry. I’m making it into everything, including shaving soap. I particularly like it as a room spray.
And, in other news…
The new home for this year’s Holiday Festival of the Arts is…
1825 Cornwall Avenue at Ohio Street
This is the building kitty-corner to Bellingham High School and used to be a bingo hall, Sunshine Liquidators, and, most recently, Mayberry’s Sporting Goods.
Bonus: latte stand in the parking lot!
Holiday Festival of the Arts Opens
November 17, 2012
Allied Arts’ 33rd Annual Festival of the Arts is officially open for the season. They have a new location this year, across the street from Geri Fields, behind Inside Pitch in the Haskell Business Park.
Some amazing work is on display. C’mon down and support local art!

Here’s how the table looks this year. There was room to add a tall, skinny shelf to the right — perfect for some of my assemblages.
Here’s to buying handmade and local. Cheers!

Allied Arts Holiday Festival
November 13, 2011
Getting ready for the Allied Arts holiday show. I juried for both my Realms lotions and soaps, plus the art assemblages I’ve been doing all year. So my booth is going to be a little of both. Here’s what I’ve been up to lately:
Been having fun with some mini shadow boxes — in necklace form. They are double-sided.

Allied Arts Holiday Festival

Allied Arts of Whatcom County
So stoked! I’ve been accepted to Allied Arts’ Holiday Festival, the grandmama of Bellingham’s Christmas fairs. I’m going to have to get busy stocking up. The festival runs for over a month: from November 20th – December 24th. Hot damn.
Festival of Lights
December 18, 2008

Linda's Sue's felt ornaments
The snow fairies held off long enough to have a very successful Festival of Lights. The art was amazing. And the artists were warm, welcoming and wonderful. We had a great time trading and buying — my house is full of new objects, all lovingly made by hand — including a sweet felt Santa made by Linda Sue.

the sweetest bunny on the planet
I fell in love with this bunny.

Linda Sue's elves and imps and beautiful waifs

Luscious flowers (my camera doesn't do the red justice)
Elaine makes these delicate decorated bottles and boxes. Her husband has drilled holes in the backs of some of the bottles , which she has turned into nightlights.

Karin puts together these wonderful collages — part funk, part industrial, and part just plain wonder.

Collage pins and magnets -- fantastic
And Ed, holy moly, well the glass screams for itself.

Ed's glass lawn art
And I forgot to mention, the whole atmosphere at Amy and David’s house is wonderful, with the girls and Atlas (one amazing dog) running around. And besides being a good sport, David makes a mean white bean chili.

The girls got Daddy to play dress-ups
Festival of Lights Arts & Crafts Show
November 30, 2008
One of my favorite crafts fairs of the season is coming up December 12th & 13th. The Sixth Annual Festival of Lights is happening at Amy Gould’s home, in the W.W.U. neighborhood, 510 North State Street, across from the Armory.
This is a special show, with unique items you won’t see anywhere else. One of my dear friends and true artist, Linda Hoofnagle will be there. She works primarily in felt. For a sneak preview of some of the pieces she’s been working on, check out her blog, All I Ever Wanted, at http://ifeltit-poppiespoppy.blogspot.com/.
Friday’s hours are 5-9 PM and Saturday 11AM – 5 PM. I’m making a passel of mini-lotions for stocking stuffers. Sure hope to see you there.
